1. Limits on Export of Foreign Currency on International Flights

Pakistani nationals can carry foreign currency with maximum limits as per following table. The foreign currency can be US Dollar (USD) or any other well recognized foreign currency - but the value of foreign currency should not exceed the equivalent value of USD limits.

Important things to remember for travelers with foreign currency:

• The currency must be acquired through an authentic and licensed currency exchange company
• Travelers must keep the original receipt of currency exchange to present at customs
• Export of Pak Rupees (PKR) is prohibited
• Keep your cash in a well locked carry-on or hand bag while traveling
• Always keep an eye throughout your journey on the bags having cash and your travel documents
• Keep a copy of your passport with you and come to airport a bit more early as currency declaration formalities may take an additional 15 to 20 minutes

2. Limit on Export of Cigarettes or Tobacco from Pakistan

As per customs regulations, passengers of age 18 years and above can carry cigarettes or tobacco within following limits. Travelers can choose any one of following options (not all of them together). 

• Maximum 200 cigarettes
• or 50 cigars
• or half pound of tobacco

3. Export Regulations on Other Common Items

There are other significant points to remember related to export regulations while traveling abroad from Pakistan..

• Export of antiquities is prohibited to foreign nationals and nationals of Pakistan residing abroad who pay a short visit to Pakistan.
• For crew members: customs allowances are very restricted. Firearms, alcohol and plants are prohibited.
